Not so long ago, when there was no Bootstrap and HTML5…

Everything in the world of internet evolves and adapts so fast that it’s nearly impossible for me to recall what the web was like before Bootstrap and HTML5.

In fact, it is something that had never even occurred to me before, until I came across this article on TNW by Owen Williams on why “web design is now completely boring”, where he described the time when everyone built their sites more or less from scratch, so there was huge diversity in layouts, colors, sound effects, transitions, animations and more.

He mentioned about Space Jam’s site.

Space Jam! I didn’t even know they had a website for it. I remember I had seen its ad so long back on TV.

I went on to surf through the archived sites built using Flash and felt that they had a special awesomeness associated with them. Take a look.

2Advanced Studios

Conspiracy Games

Nikon
That is some creativity; awesomeness all over it!

Nike
Must. Check. This. Out.

Bottom-line

In my point of view, the present day trend of web design might be a lot more sophisticated and organized but the websites lack that uniqueness to amuse us.

Maybe that’s why the UX of Reddit and Craigslist doesn’t really matter.

I won’t say it’s bad. Without a doubt, Bootstrap is amazing but it would be actually cool to try out things a bit differently.

If not anything, we know one thing for sure. Nike has always been awesome.

Webdunia Interview Questions [May 2015]

Hi! I recently appeared for Webdunia's interview. Here's what happened.

Interviewer: What is your area of expertise?
Me: My pro language is C#. I have developed a few windows apps. In fact, my final year projects were also based on C#. Then I explained my projects to them.

Interviewer: Okay. Were those desktop apps or mobile apps?
Me: They were universal apps, which means they can run on both devices.

Interviewer: You have mentioned python on your resume. How good is your knowledge there?
Me: Only to a basic level. I told them that I had done one course on python and worked on a simple project but I'm aware of the common syntax and features.

Interviewer: It seems that you have a good hold on Object Oriented Programming. Tell me, what is static variable?
Me: I explained it in my words but you should look for accurate explanation on net.

Interviewer: I see you have a certification in Microsoft. Why Microsoft?
Me: For this, my answer might have sounded rather silly. I said that our college is a partner and the exams were conducted in the campus at lower costs.

Interviewer: Okay. How did you prepare for the exam?
Me: I told them that the given materials were enough and I had prior knowledge in the subject so that helped.

Interviewer: What do you know about cloud computing?
Me: Again, explained it in my words.

Interviewer: Which cloud would you choose to work on and why?
Me: I'd choose to work on Microsoft's cloud Azure as I have already worked on it before and I like it.

Interviewer: Really? What work did you do?
Me: Nothing productive. It was part of a Microsoft course I did. Then, I explained to them how I deployed virtual machines and tried on the different features.

Interviewer: What do you know of HTML5?
Me: I gave a two-three line explanation but they weren't switching to the next question. It seemed that they wanted to hear more on it.

Interviewer: Have you heard about the term 'Big Data'? What technology is used there?
Me: I explained whatever I knew about Apache Hadoop.

Interviewer: It seems that you have worked only with Microsoft technologies. What if we ask you to work on something different?
Me: I told them that one of the reasons that I mainly focussed on Microsoft was because I was a Microsoft Student Partner and you get that driving force when you belong to a team like that.
Otherwise, I love my branch and would very passionately pursue any new technology that you would want me to.

Interviewer: Alright. Do you have any questions?
Me: No.

Interviewer: Are you sure?
Me: Yes.

Interviewer: Okay. Thank you!

Known Issues In Windows 10 Build 10074

Windows 10 Build 10074 is available now. In case, you still haven't downloaded it, you can find the links at OSBetaArchive. Another thing you might want to be aware of, is the known issues with the build as declared by Microsoft on the Windows blog.
